Dr. Damon Mortensen was born in Fullerton, CA while his
father was attending optometry school. He was raised
in Rexburg, ID and is the 2nd of 5 children.
By participating in school sports, he gained valuable
characteristics such as dedication and hard work. He
served a 2 year LDS mission in St. Louis, MO after which he
attended Ricks College where he played football for the
Vikings during the college’s last year of collegiate sports.
He received his Bachelor degree in Exercise Science
from Brigham Young University (BYU) Provo, UT in 2005.
Following in his father’s footsteps, he received his
optometric education from the Southern California College of
Optometry (SCCO) in 2009.

Following his rotations, Dr. Mortensen received his Doctor of Optometry degree and returned home to Rexburg, ID and joined the Rexburg Vision Center in June of 2009. He is a member of the AOA and IOP. He is married to Jessica (Davies) Mortensen and they have 3 children. Dr. Mortensen enjoys spending time with his family as well as most all sports. He especially enjoys golf, boating, skiing, and snowmobiling.
